The firm started as a stock broker in 1979-80 after acquiring a membership in the Dhaka Stock Exchange. This individual membership was converted into the firm of Imtiyaz Husain & Co., broker-dealer in 1994 and into a limited liability company in 2006. The firm’s key objectives are to assist clients in enhancing the value of their investment. As a member of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the company is registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission as a broker. Professional dealers and staff independently manage trading activities of the firm. The firm is also licensed as a full service depository participant by the Securities & Exchange Commission. The firm is independent and does not have any exclusive arrangement with any local or international business group.

It undertakes securities custody services on behalf of the clients. The main bankers of the firm are Standard Chartered Bank, Dhaka. The firm is also a member of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
